USA Junior Olympic Sailing Festival 2010 - Midwest

Friday Lessons and Pirate Party

We'll begin the day with lessons for new or novice sailors, with both morning and afternoon sessions. Anyone interested in learning to sail, but not providing their own boat, is STRONGLY encouraged to register in advance, due to the limited number of boats available for lessons. The morning lessons will run from 9:00am to 11:00am, and the afternoon lessons will run from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Both sessions are on on Friday, July 16, 2010. Typically lessons for new sailors will take approximately one hour. Should boats be available, new sailors will be able to continue sailing beyond the hour lesson.

Beginning at 4:00pm, we'll start our annual Pirate Party. This event will provide more seasoned sailors an opportunity to develop their sailing skills in a fun way, and will offer new sailors (or even non-sailors) the chance to join with other sailors in a search for pirate treasure. No pirates will go home empty handed, as there will be plenty of pirate booty for all. Want to know what it will be like to be a pirate? Click on the arrow to the right.

The lessons are open to sailors ages 8-21. The pirate party will be open to sailors ages 5-21. The fee is $20 for those wishing to do the lessons and/or Pirate Party only, and includes an official Olympic Festival t-shirt, as well as your hard-earned pirate booty! Both events are included for those registering for the full Junior Olympic Sailing Festival. Registration for the lessons and Pirate Party is now open. Space is limited, so please register early!
